The defroster heater unit arrived in the time frame as specified. Part fit well. I don't think every homeowner would be able to install, but if you have some skills it can be done. The original part for this refer lasted for 20+ years so I was expecting a few more from this unit. I had read the previous reviews and they were mixed. Some said they did not last, others said fit well. No real long term reviews. Well I installed the parts the day they came in late march. They seemed to work well, could hear the frost dripping on them when fridge defrost cycle came on. Then after a while you don't check and listen as much. Labor day weekend came and I get a call from my daughter that the fridge has water in front of it. She wiped it up and I had her check the internal temp with laser temp tool, also bought on Amazon. Fridge was running and refer side was 62 degrees. Freezer side was 55. Ice in ice maker was melted and gone, hence water in front of fridge. New flooring that I put in a year ago is ruined. All the food had to be thrown out. Removed the panel to expose the defroster units I had replace 2 months earlier and there was an inch of ice on the cooling coils. Used heat gun and manually defrosted the fridge and went online to reorder part. Guess what, the part was not offered through the same seller anymore. Had to order another one through another seller. It came and I installed it. Hopefully it will last for a bit longer. Just outside of return window so 4 hours of work and faulty part makes for a bad feeling left from buying this unit from this particular seller. Will they reach out and fix this for me? I doubt it but if they do I will include an update. If not I would not buy from them and would not recommend anyone else to either.Stay away, faulty part. That is my recommendation.

Seems to be working ok. For some reason the bottom element heats up a great deal faster and hotter than the top element. Not sure why.
