I love this book! It has a wonderful mix of Biblical teachings and historical fiction that brings its characters to life! I think the weaving together of scripture within the storyline allows the reader to glimpse Jesus and His people in a realistic way.

I love the way Francine Rivers tells a story. It puts your mind in a place where you can actually imagine what these men and women went through during their time, and how their lives actually connect to ours. It makes me so grateful that I have my savior Jesus Christ, and to know that He has already paid the price for my sins! It also reminds me that I sin every single day in so many ways…and that these people from our past were no different than we are now. We think life now is so hard, yet I can’t even imagine living in their time.

The print is small and light print. I’m 85 and my eyes aren’t what they use to be even with glasses. But I love Author Francine Rivers’ writings. The stories come to life! Her writings bless me so much. It’s worth the effort and time as I receive greater understanding and love for the Word of God

I thoroughly enjoyed reading each story about Godly men of the Bible! Reading the story I would recall the scriptures from the Bible and like a puzzle the pieces would falling to place! This left we with a feeling that these were men created by God for a Devine purpose with human feelings and faults but encouraged forward by God!

I bought this for vacation reading and it has helped me to think deeper at my own spiritual convictions.

Rivers is such an awesome writer/story teller. She never disappoints !! If you know your stories of people in the Bible this book will add so much depth and makes you feel like you really personally know them.

Whole this book was written for men, it gives such an amazing insight as to what these great men of the Bible may have experienced! I would read over again & actually gifted this book!

Easy reading

Even if parts of the story are "just" fiction (and you should always keep that in mind when reading) the book was very challenging in a positive sense. Specially the first story about Aaron ...

The experience of words is of the scale of a spectacular cinematography-- Superb!!
