It says "Apply activator to lead attachment area on window and tab", but then says to not use the activator on the tab. Which is it?
Just received this kit and adhesive seems watery, is this normal? I thought it would knead into a putty like adhesive.
Do I re-glue the tab to the same spot as before, or to a different spot in the contact area?
where can i buy defroster tab for my car

After a few days it’s still holding. We’ll see.

17 Jeep Wrangler. One side of the defroster popped off. I used the wipe. I applied more than a drop and put it in a different spot. I then put a clamp on it for 24 hours. It worked. I put the multimeter to it and turned on the defroster and it read 12 volts. It’s been a few days and it’s still holding. We’ll see. The other side that was not glued popped off today so I’ll use it again.

Worked once and now does not

Based on feedback I took time to really clean the contact point on the wiring and glass.Followed the instructions with those cleaning instructions, kneeding the material, etc.It is very fluid, I was expecting it to have been a little thicker. No worries, I was able to dab a little on the glass point of contact and then put some on the wiring contact. Not being my first rodeo, I had a small clamp standing by which I gently clamped down until the wiring contact was firmly against the glass but not so much I would risk breaking the contact or the glass. It was mid 70's F and 40% humidity.I left the clamp in place for 7 hours, the glass in the up/open position. After I took the clamp off, the epoxy had a few weeks to cure as the temps were still warm. The first morning I had moisture buildup due to the overnight temps I tested my rear defrost, it worked and I was very happy.... until the next time I tried it.The second time, nothing. It failed.I checked the fuse (it is good) I have voltage running to the contact but nothing is happening. The contact is still firmly epoxied in place, it has not moved and will not move.Something is up with the epoxy that after the first run it seems to no longer be conducting. The TLDR; version:Took excessive steps to prep and install, worked once, now no longer works.

Amazing stuff

This stuff is amazing and it works. Follow the directions exactly as written and you will have no problem. Well worth the money.

Took 2 tries

So let me preface this with, if and when you get it to bond, it works. But I had to buy it twice. My rear window is very sloped. I followed the instructions exactly, held it in place for the specified time, and it fell off. Tried again, it continued to fall off. Gave up as if its supposed to cure within a minute or so and hold the part in place, continuing to try and install it isn't going to help, its too late.I bought ANOTHER package of this, but this time I took some blue painters tape and put it on the back of the tab, I installed it and held it in place, and then pressed the tape in place to hold it, and added some additional tape to support it. 24 hours later removed the tape and voila, it worked. Tested the defogger and it functions properly. Took a star off for this, IMO if you can't use it for 24 hours anyway they may as well have the instructions say the user should provide additional support (tape or otherwise) to hold it in place for a strong bond. Also important to note, the instructions on the package and in this listing say to wipe the activator on both the tab and the window. But there is a graphic on this listing that says not to use the activator on the window. I don't know why that contradictory information is there. I used the activator on both and in my second case when using the tape it worked properly.

So far so good!

I followed the instructions and so far it has stuck to the windshield properly. I held it for about 3 minutes, because someone had said they held it on for a minute and it didn’t stick. So I did everything, stuck and it’s about 5 hours in. My problem is that it is December and it’s 20 degrees outside. The instructions recommend 50 to I think 80 or something like that, so I hope it still cures correctly. It’s been in the shop I work at, so it started at a good temp. We’ll see though. But so far, consistency is good, less watery than I thought, stuck right on, everything is good. Fingers crossed.Update: I let it sit for at least 24 hours, reconnected the connector to the tab turned the rear defroster on, and it worked perfectly! No I know exactly what to get if this happens again. Was a little skeptical at first, but it works perfectly. To those who are thinking of doing this in colder weather, it does work. I did start the process in a climate controlled shop, but after probably 5 hours it was out in 20-30 degree weather for the rest of the curing time. Amazing product

Not sure it works

It glued the wires back up… we used a thermal reader and it didn’t show that it warmed up at all. maybe i did something wrong mixing it but hey

Did the job! My Rear Defroster works again!

My rear window defroster connector was broken off at the base and I was afraid to bring a hot soldering iron to the glass for fear of cracking the glass due to the heat.I carefully followed the instructions that came with the kit and was able to re-attach the broken electrical connector to the defroster. After waiting the requisite time period, I hooked up the wire and tested it: Lo! Rear defrost works again. My wife is happy that I was able to fix her car - therefore I too am happy.
