If you're a parent being begged to have Akedo battles but are tired of flicking away at the tiny rinky-dink controllers, this is your move. Much better (and more relaxing) battle experience and seems to be pretty well made. My son and I both like it.

I love the new theme for Akedo Series 3 and my boys ( 3 & 5) were super excited to start collecting the new set. The main trigger helps spin your Akedo figure to do it's normal attacks while simultaneously powering up the special megastruke elemental punch piece (pressing the main trigger X amount of times spins a special dial so that you can press the top button to activate and trigger the special arm and attack.)The special attack, while looking cool, has a low accuracy and effectiveness rate when in play. Even when it hits in the correct spot, it did not split strike the opposing Akedo Warrior. if not angled just right, it will also go over the head of the opposing Akedo and miss it completely. Sometimes you can use the special attack once...other times you can use it two or more times? After about ten minutes of play, our controller got stuck and the powerup piece does not reset...but it is stuck in the "on" position so now my son can use the special attack unlimitedly...so it's a win in his book. (It has occasionally came unstuck and then sticks again a few spins later.) The launch handle no longer goes all the way back in the down position now either.Another con is that some Akedo figures will split strike on their own when on this controller since it spins them so quickly and strongly. The cool, new Elemental Chux that comes with this set was especially vulnerable to splitting himself...and any other Akedo that has bulkier arms, it seems.Another con about this controller is that, if you have a figure with a bulky arm or foot for kicking action, it can get caught on the Megastruke punch piece, thus making the attack null. This was especially frustrating when you worked to "powerup" the attack move and it was wasted because it got stuck on your own guy.All that being said, however, my sons still love the new controller and how different it is from the other ones. The extra Elemental pieces add a fun element to the game and the new Chux looks awesome. So, even with the cons of the set, it's still a win with my kids. Just know that these controllers aren't the best (in any of the sets, really) and can be prone to weird and random malfunctions.

Fun easy to use right out of the Package toy that my son and I can spend time together enjoying a little quality time together well spent
