KOI Watercolors Field Box Set of 24 Colors

Really bright colours it is quite an extensive range of colours in 24 set.colours stay bright when mixed although not sure about transparency.Great for botanical, landscape, even portraits. Smaller than the half pans in other brands however they are well filled. There is plenty of mixing room.thanks to a separate pallet inside with good sized mixing wells that attaches securely to the box with pegs it can be postioned on the right or left of the box when in use. Well positioned thumb hole.I have yet to paint a picture but from the mixing chart i have done the colours lift easily from the pan. Love that it has two sponges included for brush drying. Good for beginners, students, the more experienced artist and children who really want to paint. Box although plastic it is very solid which is a bonus. Water brush has a stopper for the barrel for transport, the brush is split for travelling,which is a great idea. Worth the wait to arrive in uk. The header for this review is a cliche but it certainly describes the KOI field set of watercolours. The box is small enough to carry in a handbag or even a large pocket, yet it opens up to give plenty of mixing space and the strongly pigmented colours are a joy to use. They're easy to mix if you need a colour not in the box but the supplied colours offer a good range, covering all basic needs. The included waterbrush is also excellent: I'm not sure I prefer it to the Pentel waterbrushes but it's a pleasure to see a brush of such good quality included in what is a very reasonably priced palette of colours.If you want a set of good colours that are easily transportable and can't justify the expense of something like Schmincke or Holbein, these KOI watercolours are perfect.

Bought as a gift and the recipient loved them. These can be set up easily and are a good size for using out and about. The colours are bright and vibrant and should include a wide enough range for most people’s use. I am not an experienced painter so I can only speak as someone with little knowledge about the subject.

Nicely boxed, useful mixing palette and water reservoir, supplied iwth a water brush which is a plus, and designed for outdoor use which I haven't treid out yet. The real stars though are the colour pans themselves. Compare very favourably in quality and saturation with my Daler Rowney and Cotman half pans. Not quite the perfect colour selection (too many brights to be a true landscape and naturals palette, too many neutrals, reds and yellows to be ideal for botanical subjects or fantasy. But overall incredibly good value for the money, and nice quality paint.

After reading the reviews, I thought, this pallet is for me! I am totally smitten with Koi's choice of colors and the field box its self is well designed, making it perfect for my needs. I am so happy with the huge amount of stunning greens I have been able to mix from the pallet. If you want a little more 'vibrancy' to your colors I would recommend. The pans are small (half pans) but 24 pans in the field box are lovely. Strong case packs well when travelling or neat enough for handbags. .

This watercolour set was so reasonably priced and the colours are super vibrant.This is particularly great as a miniature set, it saves a lot of space and I love the removable pallet.The best thing about this set is definitely the watercolour pen, which is the main reason I bought this set. I had never used a brush which contains the water, but it's so handy to have if you are sketching out and about. It takes a bit of getting used to, but is definitely worth it once you get the hang of it.A really neat watercolour set, great for those that travel.I have no negative comments!

I love these watercolours, the paint pigments are so bright and mix together beautifully. I love the travel case that it comes with, it makes it really easy to take them around with me and it's so clever how the tray can be taken out to mix the colours with. The two sponges and the water brush are such a bonus. I've been using these for the last few weeks and the colours are stunning, I think I'll be sticking with these from now on!

Bought these to try out because they are so raved about. Colour selection not bad, though a bit heavy on the orangey- red side. I like the layout of the box - not the most compact but plenty of mixing space and great for right or left handers.A nice addition to the collection.Update: Have now had a chance to use this more and really very impressed. The colours blend so well together and having the extra palette space is brilliant. Just finished a picture of cacti on my widowsill - it was easy to mix the greens I wanted. A lovely fieldbox.
