Easy way to get your five a day and more!
I bought this to go alongside my new juicer and I'm not disappointed. It has juices for all sorts of health conditions and some just because they are delicious. You can help things like excema, constipation, spice up your love life, build you up,hair, skin, to get you ready for the gym and after your workout, migraines, memory, blood pressure, arthritis, cellulite and even a hangover cure. There's a section for the kids, a naughty section and a three day detox plan. In the back is a section with all the fruits and vegetables set out giving you all the facts about each one, nutrients, vitamins and juice or smoothy. Some of the drinks you need a blender as well as a juicer as fruits that are stachy like mango, avacado and bananas cannot be juiced they need to go in a blender and if adding ice you need a blender. All the drinks that I've made so far have tasted fresh and easy on the palet.Once you get into the habit it is really enjoyable to do. I myself am working through the healthy options and I also make juices for my son to go alongside his time at the gym.I am in a bit of a routine now, I decide what I'm going to try the night before and then in the morning I get juicer and blender at the ready ,get all my ingredients ready and off I go.I keep both juicer and blender out on the worktop so that they don't get forgotten about in the back of a cupboard.Apart from enjoying making them I like the fact that I'm giving my son at least all the five a day we all need, and giving the grandchildren a healthy drink also, a great way to get fruit and veg into the kids, they all like smoothies.

Beautiful Book, Tasty Recipes
I am a juice amateur, but having tried some really tasty juices in the states I bought a juicer and this book recently thinking I'd give it a go at home. The book itself is beautiful, it's brightly coloured, well laid out and is quite a joy just to flick through - it's also split into very useful sections so there's one especially for kids, one for detox, one for simple juices, one for smoothies etc etc and if you find yourself with a glut of a certain fruit or veg on your hands the index will quickly refer you to all relevant recipes. The recipes themselves are excellent. They are massively varied and whilst some sound great on paper and you just can't wait to get juicing, others sound less appertising... but I've not come across one yet that when put to the test didn't taste great. I am still quite new to this so I will stick with the book for a while - and there are more than enough ideas to be going on with, but I hope that with the advice that Jason offers about quantities and combinations, with a bit more time I will be able to put togethr some of my own recipes too.A very good but which has ensure that my new juicer will not gather dust - if you are looking to buy a juicer - I can highly recommend thePhilips HR1861 Pro Aluminium Juicer which is on sale at amazon at the moment, I chose it after extensive research and have not been disappointed. It is also the juicer favoured by The Juice Master Himself.Happy Juicing!

great book, careful of the detox shopping list!
i bought this when i bought my juicer. there are great recipes in it, really enjoying the juices. its nice to have some smoothie recipes too, great to get smoothies with avacados to thicken them. cant believe jason vale has me eating avacados! and his juices with beetroot are actually nice (had previously had terrible beetroot in a juice)One of the main reasons i bought this book was because it included a 3 Day Detox. Myself and my husband said we would give it a go. We did it on a weekend off. well we were working on the friday (day one) and were off for saturday & sunday. (you are quite tired for the few days and if i was working through all the days i probably would not have been able to get through it. he recommends you sleep and nap and treat yourself with massages and things, i can understand why, you have to distract yourself from thinking for food!!!)it takes ALOT of prep for the juices, the detox section gives you a shopping list for the food you need for the week per person doing the detox. the annoying thing was it did not include everything we needed for the weekend of juices. you will need 2.5 avacados, 1 beetroot extra plus i would make it a large pineapple instead of a medium (you need half a pineapple for one recipe and 4x1inch for 4 other juices, thats a large pineapple in my mind!)i would recommend doing the 3 day detox, yes i lost 3.9kg over the 3 days and 5 days later i was up 1.7kg, but im quite happy with that. i know alot of people will think it is a type of crash diet to lose weight fast, but you feel unreal after the 3 days, i had more energy, i was in better form, my skin was better and i felt like all the s*** i had eaten and drank over christmas was flushed out of me. i was also happy that i didnt crack and eat food! i did miss chewing though!the book is great, just careful of the detox shoppping list!

Great book
This is such a good book for someone who is in the initial stages of changing their diet to a healthier lifestyle. Personally, I am not about to go on a juicing diet and can't face giving up bacon in place of a celery smoothie every morning for the rest of my life. I have begun the Paleo method and want to cut out processed foods for health rather than weight loss. However, the juicing recipies Jason gives are absolutely delicious and I never thought a celery smoothie could taste so good (I hate celery). I have also lost weight in just two weeks of cutting out junk and replacing a packet of crisps with a juiced drink (an added benefit), whilst still having a main meal of meat & veg every day. There is a juice for everyone in here - from kids, to office workers, to those in old age. I particularly like how he has created juices for specific ailments too, or some which focus on health and beauty. Well written and delicious juices - well worth the buy.
