Dropped Temps by 20°C – But Applying It Feels Like Frosting a cupcake

I used this Arctic MX-6 thermal paste on both the CPU and GPU of my gaming laptop, which was previously hitting a worrying 97°C under heavy load due to old, dried-out paste (about three years old). After cleaning the surfaces thoroughly with Hexeal 99.9% isopropyl alcohol (great product for prep), I applied the MX-6 and immediately noticed a significant temperature drop to around 77°C. So in terms of performance, this paste definitely delivers. The paste quality is excellent—thick enough to spread evenly without running or bubbling, giving good coverage and reliable thermal contact. However, the ease of application is let down by the tube’s nozzle design. Instead of a fine tip, you get a wide ~5mm hole under the cap, which makes precise dabs tricky and can be a bit messy if you’re not careful. The tube contains a generous 8g, which is enough for dozens of CPUs or GPUs—perfect if you’re a regular DIYer or PC builder. For most people doing a single or couple of builds, this is probably too much paste; a smaller 1g or 2g tube would make more sense.A quick note on functionality: this paste is designed for direct die contact, like CPUs and GPUs. It’s too runny to replace thermal pads or fill larger gaps, so keep that in mind if you’re looking for something for those purposes. Summary:Excellent thermal performance and paste quality make this a solid choice for CPU and GPU cooling. The nozzle design complicates application precision, but if you can manage that, you’ll have plenty of high-quality paste to keep your components cool.

Just buy it.

Keeps temperatures down while being great quality, sticks well and performes better than factory paste you get on gpu's or cpu's. Functions as promised just wish you got more for the price.

Works perfectly

Easy to apply, CPU temps dropped and rarely go over 65⁰C now. previously would hit between 70-80⁰C

Very good, however much thicker than MX4.

Whilst there is a performance boost in terms of thermals, but it's quite difficult to spread, which makes sense compared to mx4.However cost even though is a bit higher might be negligible to someone who does need that 3-4 degrees of improvement. Although I've only seen this in some pretty specific environments. It's great, but I wouldn't say it's much different from mx4.

Arctic quality as expected, great value for money thermal paste

I've been an avid user of Arctic thermal paste ever since the silver days and as expected this worked exactly as expected.I have used this on several systems over the past 3 years and so far I have had zero issues, each system where MX6 was used to replace the stock thermal paste saw a temperature drop of around 6c (Although this is normally because the manufacturer paste was nasty)I have used the paste on direct die installations such as GPUs and the Intel CPUs inside the MS-01 and I have also used it on various laptop CPUs and desktop CPUs without any major issue of leakout or drying/crackingI'm sure there are better pastes on the market and for a long term installation such as servers or GPUs I would recommend PTM 7950s but for the price I don't think this is a bad paste and it is easy enough to apply

Noticeably better thermal performance than Arctic MX-4

For more years than I'd like to admit, I've used MX-4 on all PC builds. When I saw that MX-6 was available, I thought it would just be a tiny improvement over MX-4. I honestly wasn't expecting it to perform so much better, especially at the price! Literally just changing from MX-4 to MX-6 helped turn an ageing laptop from being a permanently noisy beast into a mostly quiet one and has allowed desktop CPUs to boost higher at the same temperature maximum. Whilst it is a little trickier to apply than MX-4, the solution is very simple: just put a decent blob of it on both surfaces (the CPU or GPU and the heatsink) then push together. I've not need to worry about spreading it out like I used to, and hopefully anyone reading this will know that it's a myth that you can apply too much thermal interface material. (People used to try to commonly use the bare minimum of TIM, but this myth has long been busted through multiple tests, showing no real world difference.) If you need some new thermal paste for regular use, this is what you want.

Thermal paste

Have used this paste for many years now and never had a problem with it keeps temps under controlled easy enough to spread can be a little more on the sticky side but with the right spreader not really a issue would still but again as the performance to price point is very good
