Works Great! I use it mainly for color pencils. I have no issues with the mechanics of this pencil sharpener, it just takes a little getting familiar with adjustments to the core depth desired, after that it's smooth sailing. I have only had a few problems, but it is not at all the fault of the sharpener, it is the newer Prismacolor pencils manufactured in Mexico that give me a bit of a headache. Many of the pencils are not centered in the core, creating a lopsided wood sharpening experience, which can cause breakage during sharpening due to the buttery soft core of these lovely pencils. I am sharpening my Prisma's at a shallow depth, which requires more sharpening to keep a point for detailing. All of my other premium color pencil sets (F.C. Polychromos, Caran d'Ache Pablos, Derwent Inktense, and others are sharpening just fine no matter the adjustments in depth.

I am overall satisfied with the performance of the sharpener on Carbothellos, FB Pitt Pastel Pencils and Caran D’ Ache Pastel Pencils. Although it is not always perfect, if cranked slowly and carefully it does a pretty good job. To be honest, I use this M+R in combination with several other small hand held sharpeners depending on how finicky the individual pencil is.

I am so happy to say that this sharpener will sharpen your Carand'Ache pastel pencils! I had tried so many and was so frustrated. Carand'Ache pastel pencils are so fragile. If one is broken inside that can't be helped but this sharpner itself is A+ quality and will never break your Carand'Ache pastels!

As a colored pencil artist, I've bought and been frustrated by many pencil sharpeners, both cheap and expensive. This is the best I've ever used. It gives me a super sharp point when I want it, a softer tip when I want that, handles fat and thin pencils with ease, and hasn't broken a single pencil of any brand. I haven't fastened it to my desk, though you can. It automatically stops grinding when you get to the sharpness you've specified, so you're not chewing up expensive pencils. All in all, this is easily the best pencil sharpener for colored pencils that I have had.

The concept of this sharpener is great but it has ruined so many of my expensive pencils. Dont be fooled with the rubber teeth, it still doesn't protect the pencils from being chewed up. I'm returning it.

Update: The company sent a replacement and the sharpener works great!I purchased sharpener a few ago and have only used it a handful of times yet it stopped working. I tried to request a replacement as it should still be under warranty but the seller company and the manufacturing company are not responding. Amazon wanted to charge me 20% restocking fee to return it. I assumed this sharpener was high quality from YouTube video reviews…that’s why I bought it! This is so disappointing!

The box is covered on all 6 sides with German language and German addresses. Tiny print on the bottom, very nearly covered up by a sticker, says Made In China.

It works for the most part but my main issue is it knowing when to stop when the pencils are sharp.

Easy to use and doesn't break the leads as other sharpeners on the market do, would recommend.

Hatte mir zuerst eine billigere Spitzmaschine gekauft. Dann sah ich, dass man bei diesem Spitzer zwischen Kurzkonus und Langkonus (stumpfer bzw spitzer Anspitzwinkel der Stiftspitze) wählen kann (laut Beschreibung! Auch auf der Herstellerseite!) und habe mir diesen Spitzer bestellt.Er eignet sich gut zum Anspitzen von Stiften, er tut also, was er soll. Allerdings ist es entgegen der Behauptung der Produktbeschreibung nicht möglich, Lang- oder Kurzkonus einzustellen! Es ändert sich lediglich, wie bei ALLEN anderen Spitzmaschinen (auch meiner billigeren Variante, die diesem Produkt in rein gar nichts nachsteht) die Länge der angespitzen Mine. Spitzt man auf der kleinsten Stufe einen Bleistift an, so erhält man eine langkonische Bleistift"spitze", die oben stumpf bzw nicht zu Ende gespitzt wurde. Unbrauchbar für Leute wie mich, die auf der Suche nach einer Kurzkonus-Spitzmaschine für weiche Stifte wie Pastell-, Kohle- oder Kreidestifte sind.

Veramente meravigliato da questo prodotto. Sicuramente non proprio economico, ma la qualità in questo caso si vede e si apprezza.Per coloro che si lamentano che si rompe subito, consiglio di leggere bene le istruzioni, perché (come tutti i temperamatite) se la mina si spezza all'interno è necessario smontare il meccanismo e rimuovere il pezzo della punta spezzato.Preciso e versatile grazie alla regolazione del taglio della punta.
