Great purchase! This is a super cast iron grill, I read some of thd negative reviews, most of the negative seemed to stem from buying used 🤔, this is hardly the companies error, people you have to maintain you cooking pans, pots etc. i used the pan multiple times since arriving. Nothing sticking, I have washed and dried throughly, applied a small dab of olive oil,rubbed in well and wiped any excess off. The heat is even, depending on what you are preparing, watching your heat and maintaining is essential in a meal your making. Would definatetly reccommend 👍💯

I got tired with non-stick pans becoming sticky within a year. Not only that, it seems after a short time, experts decide the the composition is no longer safe for cooking food.The solution was to go back to how previous generations used to cook--reliable cast iron!This is a great pan for making pancakes. It may come pre-seasoned, but you will probably want to season it a lot more. Organic Avocado oil worked perfectly for me.One more thing--You want to make sure to add at lease 1 egg into your pancake batter. If you don't, the pancake will stick. You may also want to purchase a Lodge silicone handle to cover the cast iron handle. Makes a good thing even better.

As with any Lodge product it is affordable and functional. However, as with all Lodge products the "pre-seasoning" is terrible and the finish very rough. I know this when I purchase their items and I'm okay with that. I break out my orbital sander and spend about 15-20 minutes smoothing out the cooking surface before hand washing, then finally, seasoning it with multiple cycles through the oven. Once all that is done it's a keeper that can be passed down for generations. Works great on the stove top with good, even heat distribution. I would recommend these to others as long as they understood the work involved to get it to become non-stick.
