Color:Grass These great reading aids have been developed to help struggling readers by relieving the symptoms of Visual Stress. They have been awarded the UK Special Needs Product of the year 2014 and are now available in the USA. Visual Stress describes the discomfort experienced by some when viewing text. It affects 20% of the population, and 5% to the point of making reading very difficult, or even impossible. It can cause headaches, poor tracking, the apparent movement of words and letters, and slow or halting reading, to name just a few symptoms. Unfortunately it is often misdiagnosed as a symptom of Dyslexia or other learning disabilities, when it is actually an entirely separate condition. The simple act of reading through a colored overlay can solve these issues - however it is very important that the correct color is used. Crossbow Education have developed the reading rulers through a research based model, ensuring that the optimum palette of colors are available. They have designed them so that they are not only small and discreet (they look just like a bookmark), but also to work as a tracking device. If you know any struggling readers, these are a must. The reading rulers come in packs of 10 colors, to ensure that the correct color for each individual can be identified, as well as single color packs for those who already know their most effective color. See for yourself why over 60% of all schools and colleges in the UK already use these award winning products!

Highly Effective
These transparencies worked really well for my 10-year-old (4th grade). My son is a voracious reader who has not been diagnosed with dyslexia. However, I noticed when reading aloud that he seemed to have a bit of trouble: skipping over words & sometimes missing a line of text -- even though he reads enthusiastically with no comprehension problems. So I bought these sheets on a whim just to see if they might help -- wow! The transparencies provide a marked improvement in his ability to read aloud fluidly. We purchased the multi-color set which was good choice as it allowed me to place random transparencies over text he'd never seen before and quickly discern which color worked best for him. My son even noted that he really likes the line on the sheets because it keeps him from skipping sentences: I had not really considered that the line on the transparency might be a good thing. So I would recommend these sheets even to parents who may not have hard diagnosis of a reading deficit: the transparencies seem to help in a myriad of ways, so something for everybody wanting to ensure their kids are performing at their best.

No more skipping lines
I'm a teacher and I like these better than the thin guides that only reveal one line of text at a time. These allow a student to see the entire paragraph, with one line at the top as a guide for the line of text being read. The other guides cause problems because students often skip lines. Flexible plastic is sturdy, not cheaply made.

Great Product for Jumping Letters
Very pleased with this product. 10-year-old who uses it is happy and says it works. It is much more substantial and easier to use than flimsy plastic book covers and appears to help with glare. He is using it for letters that jump and previously had a screening showing that grass green works best for him. We keep one at home and one at school, with the extras put away in case one gets lost. They also pack more easily than large sheets but are large enough to be able to view several lines of text, so that he can scan a larger area to reread a sentence when necessary.

Love it!
I use this with my dyslexic student and she loves it! Before choosing a color, I gave her simple passages on different colored pages. We found the bright colors were too much but the blue was amazing! I am truly awed at the difference in her fluency when she reads with a blue background.

Helps reduce glare and eye strain
I bought these to see if they would help make reading easier for my child. Turns out that I like them more! I feel like they help reduce eye strain when reading. To clarify, I still read from a paper book, have not tried on a device.
