Excellent quality, stylish, quiet and fast
Excellent quality Kettle, looks very stylish, The lid is easy to remove and place back, making it very easy to add water. I also find it super quiet and boils 2 mugs of water very quickly.

Good value. Needs regular cleaning.
Bought 14.3.23. Easy to read levels for filling, so less excess water wastage. Boils quickly (full 3000w power and low thermal inertia because of light weight). The jug is quite light and feels slightly strange as the weight is bottom heavy and goes up so quickly during filling. Probably a bit fragile if dropped (not tested as yet - 23.7.23 see below). Definitely needs cleaning with descaler every 3-4 weeks as it quickly looks a mess with scale residue drops appearing around spout and on outside. The fine mesh on the spout needs careful cleaning each time. If this broke tomorrow, we'd buy the same again.Just over 4 months in and this morning we just caught the glass rim on the edge of the stainles steel sink and the glass broke. This was a light knock, but of course the added weight of the bottom part of the kettle maybe made it a stronger bump than one might think. Have ordered another. It is a pity that the glass part cannot be replaced (as for a glass cafetiere) but that is probbaly intrinsic to the design that yields the quick boil.

Very happy, great kettle, efficient and great service
This looks lovely. Needed to update my parents kettle. This looks lovely and is simple and easy to use for older folks. They can see how much water they are heating (so as not to waste energy) and it's mainly glass so is better for them. Obviously they just shouldn't touch the glass! Heats quickly and looks good too! Good value for a great brand.

Looks nice but not recommended.
This is a nice looking kettle with a blue light up glass jug. It boils fast but there were a few issues. The lid is design where it pulls out completely and you need to put it down to turn the tap on while holding the kettle to fill it. This for me was just annoying and became a bind. The pouring action was poor. The lip is wide and the water came out in a wide flow and was less than satisfactory. However the biggest issue: the glass jug on ours broke when being filled. It was being held under the tap and had the slightest knock on the tap as it was being removed causing the glass to smash. This wasn't done with lack of care and was actually an action which would be repeated several times a day every time it was needing to be filled. It was inevitable that on a few occasions the glass might catch the tap as it was placed under or removed. The knock was very slight and caused immediate failure. Luckily the glass went into the sink and was able to be carefully collected. After this we bought a plastic kettle which seemed a lot safer.I have had several glass kettles in the past and none have smashed. This one seems particularly susceptible because there is no rim to the jug. It is a fully glass jug right to the pouring lip and edge. This edge is what you need to carefully slide under the tap to fill. Either that or it would be safer to use a plastic jug to fill it. In any case I didn't want another of this style.

A Glass Symphony with Quirks
Pros:Generous 1.7L Capacity:This kettle is a titan among its peers. It holds enough water to hydrate a small village (or at least a large family).Glass Aesthetics:The transparent glass design and blue led is chic and modern. It’s like having a mini aquarium on your kitchen counter.Cons:Counter Space Invasion:Say goodbye to that minimalist aesthetic; this kettle demands attention.Fragile Glass Alert:Filling it up feels like defusing a bomb. The faucet/kettle tap must be handled carefully. One wrong move, and you’ll be sweeping up glass shards instead of sipping Earl Grey.Hard Water Woes:If you live in a hard water area, get ready for a weekly cleaning ritual.Descaling becomes your new hobby. Invest in Sarsons vinegar shares.Auditory Drama:The kettle’s loudness rivals a drum&bass rave. When it boils, it announces it to the entire neighborhood.Verdict: The Russell Hobbs Carafe Kettle is an enigma—a symphony of glass, noise, and inconvenience.
