First off I was pissed. I mistaken the box the pieces came in to be a complete game including a foldable board which I didn't want. I was wrong. Yep, I can admit it.Opening the very nice box I found inside two large black foams with each piece snug in there niches. To be honest, this is the nicest tournament set I've ever owned. The weight and feel are perfect. There's a slight gloss that gives them a rich look.I now prefer this set over wooden ones I paid over 3 times as much from USCF.

This is the 2nd Amerous Chess set that I have purchased. The first one was a small magnetic travel set that I also felt was a great travel sized chess set. This much larger weighted set is very well sculptured and comes in a heavy cardboard storage box with foam type cutout inserts to fit each piece into for safe keeping. A good number of years ago a neighbor of mine made me large beautiful wooden inlaid chess board with 2-inch squares. This large set fits this board perfectly and the pieces actually match the color of the board squares.This set (as well as the smaller set) comes with two extra queens, which is a nice bonus. All in all, I am very pleased with my purchases of the Amerous chess sets as I feel they are well made and a good value at a reasonable price.

These are incredible. They look beautiful, but the feel of them is even better. The weighted pieces feel solid and truly high quality. Very pleased.

Beautiful! Shiny! Slick! Very large! Heavy! That said, these attributes make them clumsy to handle when removing the pieces from the board, so that they are easy to drop! Just beware. As for the large size, the large vinyl boards are a perfect fit. I really like these chess pieces a great deal. Glad I bought them!

The quality is first class. The pieces are large and glossy. I haven't been able to use, because I still cannot find an affordable board that is worthy of such a beautiful set! I'm thinking of having a board made, because the set is just that nice.
