Good qualiy - Time will tell what it captures
After flushing the power steering in my Silverado, I decided to install an inline filter and selected this Raybestos Magnetic Inline model. Several companies make them, but I like the Reybestos brand. For ease of access, the best installation point in my vehicle was at the 'out' side of the brake booster which also pushes the steering fluid (see photo). These filters work well for both transmission and power steering filtering. It 'can' be installed easily (see note below) by cutting out a section of the steering or transmission rubber line and simply inserting the filter. It doesn't come with screw clamps, so you'll have to supply your own for your particular installation. I've noticed no negative steering effects from the addition of the filter and there have been no leaks. When I flush my steering fluid again in a year, I'll cut it open to view the results and post any observations.Note: Prior to purchase, check the locations of your steering pump or transmission line(s) for ease of access and material i.e., rubber or steel. You may have metal lines (especially your transmission) which will require additional installation parts and effort i.e., cutting out a section of a metal line and adding rubber tubing to mate with the filter.

I think it was worth doing.
Ghose power steering filter on my 2011 Ford Edge. I replaced this after 80,000 some miles. Then I cut the old one open with a hand saw today. Inside there was paper media. And it was all browned out. Didn't find any metal particles, but didn't separate the paper media cracks too much to look where such would be deposited in them. There is a special type of clamp and pliers to use to put the left on this on. To put the right side of it on I used a spring tension type clamp. Is not leaking. I think it was worth doing.

Very nice
I don’t think I will ever work on a power steering system without adding one of these to it at my shop. Very nice and I can’t believe I have never seen one used before now.

Works as expected
Works as expected BUT the filter developed a small leak where the hose fittings comes out of the housing. This took 6 years, I bought another to replace it. I think it failed due to excessive movement of the hose where it’s installed. Easy fix for this time
