Good prism scope at a fair price
I tend to overpay for my optics "just in case", so for once, I thought I'd try something a little more pedestrian. When the AT3 came across my radar screen, I read some positive reviews and decided it was worth a look - and for the most part, I'm happy with it.It's really two products in one: the 3XP is a fixed magnification 3x prism scope with an illuminated BDC reticle. The ARO is a micro red dot reflex sight that can be mounted on the top of the 3XP, giving you a choice of no magnification and a wide field of view through the ARO, or the 3x magnified view of the 3XP.The ARO is a micro red dot with a 3 MOA dot. It has a 5000 hour battery and a wide range of brightness settings. The smallish glass makes it appropriate on anything from rifles and ARs to handguns (but be sure you have enough rail space to hold it).I liked the small size - if you just need a red dot on a super lightweight rifle, it doesn't weigh you down at all. I found myself wishing it could project a green dot as well as the red, and maybe even a more complex picture than just the simple dot, such as you get with the EOTech units. It's also not as rugged as, say, a Trijicon MRO or EOTech - but it only costs about 20% as much as either. What matters most to me is that it's easy to mount and it holds zero quite well. The 3XP is the bigger gem, in my opinion. The 3XP gives you some magnification that's useful out to maybe 200-300 yards, and it's much more compact than a traditional scope. It does seem more rugged, and it seems to handle lots of abuse without issue...online you'll find a reviewer that dropped it from 15 feet, soaked it in a bucket of water and then put it in a freezer for a while - all with no ill effects. For its small size, the scope is what I'd call "hefty", weighing in at about 16 ounces with battery and mount. The BDC reticle is etched into the glass, so you get an image, even without batteries. Turn it on and you have a choice of 10 lighting levels - more than bright enough in my opinion. The 3XP also has a small 2" rail on top where you can mount a red dot or possibly other accessories as you like. Although it comes bundled with AT3's ARO red dot, you could probably mount anything you like up there.Optically, I found the glass to be very bright and crisp at most distances and lighting conditions. The reticle is easily visible too, even without batteries (except at night, of course). If you've never used a prism scope, an issue some people have is that the eye relief isn't like that of a red dot or a top-quality scope. The 3XP works out to 2.7" and that's pretty typical for most 3x prism scopes. It's no big deal once you get used to it, but it does mean you want to be careful about placement when you mount it.Like the ARO, I found the 3XP to be fairly straightforward to zero, and then to hold zero even after lots of shooting. I zeroed mine at 100 yards, and then the BDC dots seemed spot on with 5.56/55 grain ammo.Bottom line is that there's a lot to like about this combo. The ARO is a respectable micro red dot that's great for quick, short-range shooting. The 3XP gives you reliable magnification out to about 300 yards (or maybe more, if your eyes are better than mine). Together, they can be purchased for a quarter the price of many of the alternatives, and yet, you probably get 85% the performance of any of the most expensive scopes.Definitely worth a look if you're wanting a red dot/prism scope combination that delivers without breaking the bank!

Work good
Would give a 5 star but the reflect sight does drain battery quick if you leave on. Not sure how long I had it on but I think for a few weeks. That is with the lowest setting. Other than that they seem to work fine. I had to sight it in twice but I think it was my fault. I do like how clear the prism scope is. I think it was worth the buy. Gonna go shooting again with it and see if anything changes with the accuracy.

Rock-solid built 3X prism scope+reddot combo, crystal clear optics, large turrets w/ caps and leash.
Well, this scope actually turned out to be great! It's a 3X prism scope, the reticle is etched into the glass, so you don't need to turn illumination on to see it. The illumination is only red. Windage and elevation turrets are large so you can do adjustments with your fingers and are covered by screw caps. There are wire "leashes" that attach the turret caps to the scope body so when they are removed for adjustment you will not drop or misplace these caps. The brightness knob is stiff. The flip-up lens covers are not too loose, pop-up quickly and stay in place. The eyepiece focus ring on the scope itself is tight. The scope looks and feels very sturdy and well built. The magnification is fixed and cannot be adjusted. It is a little heavy weighing, almost 529 grams (both the scope and the red dot together), but no complaints here. The 3X prism scope feels rock-solid and attaches to your rifle with a thumbscrew. The 3x scope has a larger aperture and is a little bulkier than you might think when ordering it. There are two large buttons on the left, "Up" and "Down". Pressing any button activates the reticle illumination and holding either button for a few seconds turns it off. There is no auto-on or auto-off feature unfortunately. The center reticle has a 3/4 circle around a very small "Christmas tree" style distance measurement markings. The scope has built-in lens caps. This is convenient but can be problematic in some cases. Normally you would position the caps so it would open upwards, but you can't in this setup because you would obscure the top mounted red dot sight. And, when you position it to open to the left or right side, they interfere with buttons or with the brightness knob. Please note that there is no diopter adjustment. So, if you wear glasses, check the eye relief with your glasses. This combo offers a 3X prism scope and a backup red dot sight for close range encounters. The red dot sight sits on top of a 3X scope, does not block your field of view, allows quick transition from 3X prism scope to red dot and is one of the smallest red dots I've ever seen. The red dot sight uses a small CR1632 battery, and its battery compartment is also hidden at the top of its base, so you don't need to remove the red dot to change it but you'll need a small flathead screwdriver to change it. The red dot scope comes with a protective case you can put over it while transporting your rifle. It also has 6 levels of brightness. The two brightest of the six levels are almost indistinguishable. Pressing the side button turns the red dot ON and holding that button for 3 seconds turns it OFF. Despite its small size, the image in the sight is decently sized and fairly sharp. If you're looking for a cost-effective combination solution for long/close range target acquisition, this definitely works. This scope has a fairly large 3x field of view, which makes it excellent for medium-range acquisition and target tracking. The lens has good clarity, but are slightly uneven around the edges, very slightly. The red dot sight is a very good way to engage many close-up targets. In short, this is a perfectly working 3x/red dot combo. I had no issues with zeroing it and it holds zero perfectly when shooting 5.56. I think it's worth the money.*** TL;DR ***Yes, I would definitely recommend it to my friends at a shooting range. Putting aside a few complaints that will hopefully be resolved in future models, this is an amazing 3x/red dot combo. It is very well designed and very well made. While it's not very budget friendly, for the range of features and quality of its construction I'd say it's worth every penny. This scope is by far the best I've used. Solid 5 stars in my book.+++ Pros +++1) Solidly built.2) Prism type 3X scope.3) Red dot for close range targets.4) Crystal-clear optics.5) 3X-P Ballistic reticle w/ "Christmas tree".6) Water and fog proof.7) Nitrogen purged and O-ring sealed.8) Turrets are covered with caps.9) Turret caps are attached to the scope.--- Cons ---1) Not a quick-attach type of mount.2) Lens caps are obstructing controls.3) No auto-on and auto-off feature.
