Great entry level antenna
Had to return the 1st antenna due to a defect but the replacement was super simple and no hassle . Now on the the real review . Got the antenna in place and hooked up to a 5w handheld and the FARS did increase substantial set 1.5 so not bad for what it is I transmitted and received well

Nice antenna. Easy to set up.
The Nagoya seems like a well built antenna that was easy to set up and use. The base is strong and seems to have a powerful magnet. The whip has a very sturdy spring. It shipped with an adapter that looks like it will make it possible to easily connect to a handheld radio.

Works great with GMRS handheld
Works well with a GMRS handheld both from my car and stuck on a pizza pan from my living room. No problem using repeater from car in urban/suburban area 25 miles away(haven't tried it further). Works great on repeater from my living room; distance of about 12 miles. For GMRS works better than another antenna I got for about the same price (Eightwood magnetic antenna https://a.co/d/2WzxZNK)

Very good antenna
It's a nice antenna. It's easy to set up on my 05 Pilot dead center of the roof, and plenty of coax. I can get out decent on a 20-watt radio can hit repeaters at 40 miles, further on the right days with good line of sight, right conditions. I don't have an SWR meter for UHF, but I'm not having any trouble talking or hearing anybody either. There isnt anything to tune on this antenna anyway. I imaging the only way to test would be trying different ground plane placement.
