This was recommended by a friend and truly arrived just when I was desperate for help, literally. I'm in my 70's, hubby in 80's, by ourselves. He recently came home from the hospital and could barely walk. Maybe TMI, but it was approaching 10 pm. He couldn't, even with me using all my strength, get off the commode. I checked the front door and the package arrived. Tore open the packaging. Simple to figure out how to use. This one just goes around the middle with seven potential lift loops. Fastens like a child's high chair buckle, only stronger. So glad it didn't have to go around his legs or under him. Got it around him. I was able to help lift him so he could stand up, accompany him to the nearby bed. For less than $20, this is an outstanding value. I obviously highly recommend it!

This product helps caregiver and pt. The handles around the belt provide a more secure, centralized lift assist. It seems to provide some added comfort for pt knowing caregiver(s) has a more secure grip and cuts down on the anxiety pt may feel about falling. Secure fit, easy to adjust and buckle. Easy to clean, quality material, good price.

I actually give it 4.5*s. It's sooo much better than just that woven cloth strap. There are plenty of handles to get a hold of and support someone walking or getting in and out of chairs/ bed. etc. It seems really well made.My only criticisms would be the plastic buckle in the front. It can be a little cumbersome to snap it SECURELY.You need to be very careful in ensuring that it is in fact buckled firmly. There's a snap... but there's also a SNAP. You REALLY need to hear the loud one! I Also wish perhaps there was a Velcro type cinch or something to tighten the belt after you have it on the person to make it fit more snug, unless I've missed understood how to size it.

Going off my cousin who used this belt with my mom. She said it worked great for getting her out of the chair and also walking with her down the hall.

Okay, so I know this is a gait belt, to help lift someone who is a fall risk. But my application is a lot different. I ride my Harley Davidson all over and I have 3 kids who love to go on rides with me. However they needed a little something extra to hold onto when we get up to higher speeds, riding in the canyons and any other time they want to hold on. That is when I found this idea. I wear this when they are riding with me, the quality of the materials is very high, the stitching is strong and comfort is good to.I figure if it is strong enough to be used to help lift an adult when they fall, it is perfect for my children to hold onto while on a motorcycle ride. The other plus is that there are different positioned handles on this so they can choose what is most comfortable for them. They like the fact that their arms don't get so tired by holding up so high on my shoulders the whole time.
