Built like a tank and perfect for making YouTube videos
I have both the Joby Gorillapod 1k and much larger and sturdier 5k. The 1k is much better suited for recording videos and getting shots with your phone. I personally use this guy with a Neewer metal phone mount which has a ball head to swivel the phone in any direction/orientation I want.I'm not sure I'd trust it with a DSLR or mirrorless camera (the 5K is much better for this application), but for light point-and-shoot cameras or phones, it's perfect. The legs are easily readjusted yet rigid, and the stand won't tip over as long as the legs are set up correctly space apart.All-in-all, I highly recommend this stand for lighter setups. It's an easy carry in the bag and takes seconds to whip out, adjust, and frame the right shot.

Heavy duty
It's probably more than I needed for the device (a Tascam sound recorder) but it goes just about anywhere.

The best stand I've bought yet
I have own 2 previous stands for my phone and both of them fell apart within a month of owning them. So, I decided to give this one a try. This one shows no sign of wear well after that period my previous ones fell apart. I use it for so many things. It holds my phone to use it as a webcam, it holds my phone when I just need a light somewhere, and it acts as a pair of sturdy extra hands when I'm doing some small work.

Small
Much smaller than expected. The photos make it look bigger. The legs and joints are much stiffer and require more effort than I expected. But that probably makes it a little more secure.Wish it came with a good quality phone mount.

Handy Product
I bought this JOBY Gorillapod to replace the original JOBY that I thought I lost. Then the day it arrived, I found my original JOBY. So I returned the newly purchased one because it was bigger and heavier than my original JOBY. Still, this and any JOBY Gorillapod is a great product; handy, convenient, flexible and sturdy enough to support heavier cameras securely. I just prefer the smaller and lighter Gorillapod to use with my smaller, lighter pocket camera.

Small camera tripod
It’s a good tripod camera holder but much smaller than I expected. Doesn’t hold an iPhone easily and no remote to help take pictures of you self easily. It’s probably Okay. For the right use but wasn’t what I was looking for.

Great baby monitor tripod!
I use this for my baby monitor. I searched for baby monitor Tripods or holders and they all suck people say the camera fell on top of their baby. Since this is designed to hold expensive cameras I thought it’ll work. I have a Motorola baby monitor and this works great. I use it on the crib and the pack play and holds the camera safely.I’ll use it for my camera after the baby is done with its

Great for Micro 4/3
I have a Panasonic GX-8 mirrorless camera. The first thing I did was to try this with all my heavier lenses. No problems, it could take the weight. I think there are some telephoto micro 4/3 lenses it would struggle to stabilize like the Olympus 100-300mm Pro or the Panasonic 100-400mm. But for those kind of lenses you aren't going to want a table-top tripod anyway, you'll want a real tripod you can stand up and shoot with. For all the mid range zooms and primes on mirrorless this is plenty sturdy.
