Have Fun Teaching Your Kids (and you) Why and How Things Work
This is an amazing book! Great alternative for iPads and TV for the summer. I think the age range is around 4-11 yrs …possibly even 12 year olds will love these experiments. They are easy enough for an older brother to do with a younger brother, a babysitter, or hopefully Mom or Dad…. As my 11 year old grandson said, can I do some of these on my own? Definitely!I expected an old small book with dull experiments. I took a chance on it cause my grandkids are always looking for fun games and things todo. I am always looking for ways for them to learn through doing. (Being an ex Teacher)This book has different sections of experiments explaining things - why something works or reacts in the way it does - in a scientific way. There are 5 Sections to the book. They are in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. There are 16-30 or more experiments in each section. An example is in the picture below from the beginner science section. Titled : “DOES IT RUST?”Pleasantly surprised with a nice thick attractive book with many illustrations. Definitely recommend this and it was a good price. Most of the experimental items you will have already in your home already.

Very descriptive and easy to follow
I’m impressed! This book had way more pages than I expected. It included scientific method type of questions to build curiosity and hypothesize what would happen during experiments.

An excellent book for the little scientist at home!
I have a little scientist at my house who loves experimenting and discovery. I was running out of ideas and ran across this book in search of a solution. The experiments are engaging, and provide great insight and follow-up that explain the why and not just the how. I can see her analytical wheels turning when we are about to start, forming her own hypothesis before getting into the experiment. It's also great to hear her explain things she sees while we are out and about from the lessons she has learned from inside this book. To put it simply, this book is helping her make sense of the world around her, and for a child that can mean so much.
