A means to solve several personal and business needs; affordable
It can be used in conjunction with various software that offers 'barcode-reader support', unless specified device(s) are supported, in the context of a stock-management system which can include books, CD, DVD and Blu-ray media or anything that may have its own barcode or where one may be generated in-house and affixed in some way.It is completely portable and powered by the same type of high-power lithium battery used in some vaping devices, LED torches and others and has a 2600 Ah rating. If required, additional batteries can be purchased on-line and may prove useful if usage is extensive and when stored fully charged; shelf-life is then essentially infinite. The scanner supports several Western European languages and can internally store up to 5000 individual barcodes. Inateck claim that a charge is sufficient to enable about 15 days of extensive use, equivalent to about 100,000 individual scans, a number few users would need within that timescale. It utilises Bluetooth to transfer its data to a paired device which could be a smartphone, tablet, laptop or PC running almost any operating system. Initially, pairing requires using the scanner to read a pair of printed barcodes included within its own manual (also on an enclosed card). Some rarer Bluetooth systems may require the download of a secondary manual to help with set-up - few will need it.The manual also includes numerous barcodes that help it set a variety of options including choice of language and many of its functions. It is quite thick but covers a few languages and not just English; much of each language section is devoted to displays of barcodes and rather little to textual instructions. Although relatively brief, they should be sufficient for the first-time user.It supports many standard barcode formats that includes those of UPS, Fedex and unsurprisingly ChinaPost; other carriers are not covered unless they use a supported standard format. It can even read VIN codes. However, it requires a barcode to be printed on paper, plastic or bright metal but it does not recognise QR codes under any circumstances or any displayed on-screen. Ideally the code should be flat but it can read them if curved and 20mm or greater diameter. It can recognise, in most instances, codes that are scratched, torn or otherwise damaged or partly obliterated provided that some portion of every bar line remains intact but those of poor quality may not be read. The reader may need to be rotated away from the horizontal to achieve a reading in such instances. Moderate blurring due to grease and other stains will not usually affect a reading and it can read beyond a distance of 35m which may remove the need to climb ladders to reach and read from something at a high or low level or to cross a warehouse.A very affordable option that could see it being widely used in a variety of contexts. There is no reason to believe that the manufacturer's claims about battery life, drop-resistance etc are greatly exaggerated or essentially untrue.

Worked very well... Until
I was always very careful plugging in the tiny micro but one day it quit charging. It would charge if you push the cord all the way in and held it with pressure. It lasted about 2 months. For some reason I got it at a cheaper price but still it should have lasted longer than that. I think it may have been used....... This one would scan barcodes and QR codes was not aware of that when I purchased it.

Worked as excepted
I tried two different Syncode scanners (this one and another) I had Bluetooth pairing issue but once connected they both worked as expected. Symcode went out of their way to work with me and make things right. Good quality scanner and easy to use. Would recommend.

Great size, Great Battery Charge, Easy to set up... Connect with iPhone and for better performance
Great scanner works better than the scanners the company I work bought easy to handle, lightweight, the scanner is pretty tough I dropped it by mistake a few times and stills works like new! A corner chipped off but it wasn’t $1200 so no big. I like the linear laser beam better I sometimes the square laser lags. It’s my third one 1) linear barcode 2) 2 x 2D QR all symcode

Great scanner!
Great product and is easy to use. I wish the plastic had a more rubber or different material to absorb drops, as the wear and tear I use these is in need of a durable casing.

easy to use, comfortable to hold
The scanner paired with my phone through Bluetooth quickly. The instruction manual had a code to scan to use SPP which is what I needed with my app. I scanned in HID first but then read through and found what I needed. I scanned about 3000 items with no problem using the scanner at 2 different stores. The only thing that I would have liked better is a switch to turn it off and on. I like the lanyard to hold on my wrist so I can drop it when I need to move or turn an item around. I did not have to press hard or many times to scan and it works quickly unlike another one I had been using. It seems to be durable and I think it will last and handle fine when I am a bit clumsy and bang it on items as I work. I do not yet know how long the battery life is but I used it for about 4-5 hours without a problem.
